Encouraging and Equipping for Victorious Kingdom Living

Parenting & Homeschooling

Building the Kingdom Through Equipping Parents
and Home Schoolers

When I look at the tender shoot of an oak, I am struck by the potential God has placed in that fragile plant. If its roots can grow deeply and if it receives a “good enough” measure of sun and water, it will eventually mature into a mighty oak. But so much can happen along the way…

Children are like those saplings. Full of potential, but tender and at risk for harm. How do we nurture our children to become all that God created them to be? How do we provide them with a “good enough” environment in which to grow? Although we aren’t experts in childrearing, we home-schooled our son for all but one of his first 18 years, and we were involved in homeschool leadership and training for most of those years. We love to come alongside homeschool families and those seeking to supplement their children’s education and training, offering food for thought from a fellow pilgrim.

We believe that if our children are rooted, protected, and nurtured in their early years, they have a much better potential to become mighty oaks of righteousness, a planting for the display of the Lord’s splendor.

Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22:6)
