About Mighty Oak Ministries

I founded Mighty Oak Ministries in 2003. I was writing, teaching, and speaking on such a wide variety of topics and needed a way to consolidate them under one umbrella that both I and others could understand. The Lord led me to Isaiah 61 and gave me the name Mighty Oak Ministries.
The name comes from Isaiah 61:3 where Isaiah says we are “great oaks of righteousness” (NLT). The word for oaks in Hebrew is ‘ayil which carries the idea of great, mighty, and strength. The same word is used for oaks and for leader or leading man. In other words, we are not to be just puny little trees, but great, mighty oaks of righteousness, a planting for the display of the Lord’s splendor. We are to be strong and mighty, and we are to reflect our Lord. That meaning informs every aspect of everything I do. My goal is to not only become a mighty oak of righteousness but also to equip others to become the same. Whether it’s biblical training, leadership training, healing, writing, parenting, or caregiving, I want to provide resources and encouragement to help you to grow into a splendid mighty oak of righteousness.
The Kingdom is My Target
Throughout my adult life, I’ve been told to “pick one.” Publishers rejected me because I wasn’t focused on one target audience. They wanted me to drop everything except the topic they wanted to publish. I can’t tell you how many times I took this to the Lord, complaining that unlike “everyone else,” I couldn’t find a focus. Repeatedly He would remind me that I’m not like everyone else. I’m interested in everything and have become skilled in many areas.
YOU are My Tribe
My tribe is really anyone who is committed to furthering the Kingdom. To being the ecclesia, the church, for such a time as this.
So I present to you, Mighty Oak Ministries, the eclectic ministry designed to equip you to serve the Kingdom in a variety of areas. I’ve decided that since I am now in overtime (+70), my goal is to freely share the resources of a lifetime. The resources are here for you to use in your ministry or your personal life. Please honor my copyright and don’t share without attribution. And be sure to sign up for my occasional newsletter to stay in touch with what I’m doing now.
Of course, I still would like to earn a bit of a living from my books, as well as from teaching and speaking, so those resources are also a part of Mighty Oak Ministries. I invite you to check out my shop and contact me if you need a speaker.
I love communicating with my readers, so feel free to use the contact page to ask questions or make comments.
Enjoy, and may God grow you into a “mighty oak of righteousness, a planting for the display of His splendor” (Isaiah 61:3).
